A course in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is the best way to prepare for a career as a skilled medical laboratory technician. A BSc MLT is a 3-year long undergraduate course in paramedical science where a candidate stands to gain practical and theoretical knowledge about diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and health problems. This course entails learning collection and sampling of data, testing, documentation and reporting as well.

In order to become a great medical lab technician, one must possess a number or hard skills and soft skills as well. An individual must be friendly, get along with people and assist and help when the situation calls for it. The eligibility criteria for this course includes a minimum qualification of 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream and a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. The admission to different colleges may require different entrance exams which will have to be prepared for depending on the entrance examination syllabus.

The job of a medical technician is very crucial to the daily work of doctors, because technicians play an important part in reporting and analysis.
